To learn card games is a very difficult task. The learning process can be even more difficult for a person who is completely new to the game. The card games played in the family home are completely different from the card games played online. Some of the card games which are played in the family home are the blackjack, poker, rummy, euchre, hearts, pinochle, backgammon, baccarat, and bridge. These card games are played with family or friends and they are played to win.

Other card games which are commonly played in the family home are the rummy games, which is a game of chase and multiple decks, the pinochle games, which are similar to rummy games but played with paper cards, and the backgammon, which is a game of Tabula or disputed points.

The game of backgammon is one of the most demanding card games. The player has to move all his checkers in the home board and then he has to move only three checkers from the opposing checkers. The backgammon is a game of Edge value. In the backgammon the cash games are very important. The obliged bets have to be placed in the beginning of the game. Later the player can market and discard for the blot.

A peculiar form of backgammon is the ” DOT Games”. The goal of this game is to build a sequences of five checks in the home board. The moves are to be made in the opposite direction to the movement of the opponent. If the opponent doesn’t have a missing checker then the player has to roll the dice and if the dice result is 7-2-1 then the game is over and a new hand is started. If the dice result is 6-2-1 then the game is ended and the set up is begun again.

Another is the “Five number” version of the backgammon which is also played with five dice. Whereas in the other “dot” version the rules are the same as the backgammon rules, the number of dots on the backgammon board are increased in five consecutive points. The “Five number” version is the more difficult of the two to learn as the process of dotification involves more rolling of the dice and for that reason it is foreseen that a player must be ready to take risks. It is an additional constraint that a player must start his first game with five checkers. Once the game is won the prizes are doubled and the losers give up their wagers.

The most popular version of backgammon is the “split” version. The game is played with two separate die and if the results are the same then the points are split and a new hand is started. The basic rules of the game are the same as the backgammon with the addition of the rule that the opponent’s checker can move beyond the boundaries of the opposing checker before it can be borne off. The basic payoff is the same as the backgammon.

The “depo 50 bonus 30” version of backgammon is also played with the doubles cube and the doubling cube is positioned on the opposite side of the game table. This version alternates between hand variations. Rather than having to roll the dice to determine the outcome of the game, the doubling cube defines the outcome of the hand. The rules remain the same as the backgammon except for the carrying of the doubling cube. In addition, a doubling cube must be placed on an even number and/or odd number side of the die before roll of the dice.

By developing a basic knowledge of the different version of backgammon, it would be possible to play backgammon properly. It would also help in developing a strategy for the game. The stakes of the game are high and the various strategies would be needed to be successful in order to acquire the upper hand. A player should be flexible and resourceful in order to be victorious in the game.
